Sirimane Falls: An Easy Waterfall Visit Near Sringeri and Agumbe

Agumbe Guide

Sirimane Falls is one of the easiest waterfalls to visit in the Agumbe and Sringeri region. The road is good, the route is marked, and you reach the falls by going down a few well-laid steps. That makes it a relaxed stop for families and for anyone who wants a waterfall without a long trek.

Where is it?

Sirimane Falls is in Chikkamagaluru district. It is about 15 to 17 km from the Sharadamba temple at Sringeri, and about 41 km from Agumbe by road. The road passes through Kigga village, which is known for its Rishyasringeshwara temple.

How to get there

Buses run to Sringeri from Bengaluru, Shivamogga and Mangaluru. From Sringeri you can hire a taxi to the falls. If you are driving from Agumbe, check the drive time on your map app and follow the marked route.

Visiting hours

The falls can be visited from about 9 AM to 6 PM. Aim to reach by afternoon so you have time to enjoy the falls and head back in daylight.

Best time to visit

The falls are fullest during the monsoon and just after it. Be careful on the steps and rocks in wet weather, as they are slippery.

Tips for your visit

  • Wear shoes with a good grip.
  • Carry drinking water and snacks.
  • Stay behind the safe areas and do not climb on wet rocks.
  • Combine it with a visit to the Kigga temple and Sringeri on the same day.
